Acne is one of the most common pathological skin conditions. It is mostly present in teenagers; however, adults can also suffer from acne. Almost everybody will be affected by it at some point in their life; hence you must learn about prevention and treatment.
What is acne?
Most people and health organizations define acne as a condition where the hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells or sebum, causing what is known as blackheads or whiteheads. It can go from a simple blackhead to a big and painful skin abscess.
What is the side effect of acne?
Some people can suffer from pigmentation, scarring, breakouts, and low self-esteem.
What can I do to prevent acne and blackheads?
- Never skip your facial cleanser before sleeping; you must remove makeup, dirt, and bacteria accumulated during the day.
- Having a diet rich in antioxidants and vitamins; not only will prevent excessive oil production but also will increase your skin regeneration.
- Have a good night’s sleep; your skin will repair itself; hence, try having at least 6-8 hours of daily sleep.
- Avoid excess sugar.
- Exfoliate your skin at least once per week; this way, your excess oil will be removed, and your pores will remain clean.
- Avoid popping your pimples; you take the risk of spreading the bacteria and producing more skin lesions.
