What are the Benefits of Jojoba Oil?

What is jojoba oil?

It is taken from the seeds of the jojoba shrub that originates in North American deserts.

What can it do for your skin?

Hydrating

It attracts water to the epidermis and keeps the skin hydrated

Controls Oil Production

Jojoba oil mimics the oil in our skin– the skin sends a signal to the glands that there is no need to produce more oil since it thinks that there is enough oil already.

Fights Free Radicals

Jojoba oil is rich in vitamin E, which is a known antioxidant. It can protect and fight damage produced by UV rays, pollution, and toxins.

Speeds up Wound Healing

Because of its vitamin E, jojoba oil decreases healing time for wound repair and recovery and helps in reducing the appearance of post-acne marks.

Anti-Inflammatory

Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that can reduce acne formation and inflammation from psoriasis and eczema

Anti-Aging

Since it is an anti-oxidant, jojoba oil may help slow down signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles

How to begin applying?

Always do a spot test before diving in.

Test 2 drops of jojoba oil and apply them onto the back of your neck or behind your ear. Leave it overnight and take note of skin reactions if there are any.

Remember that it is in oil form. This means that it is best used to seal in moisture and should be at the very last of your skincare routine.
