Probiotics can be supplements or food able to maintain the “good” bacteria of our body. Their main function is improving digestion, immune system, and nutrients absorption. The reason most people include probiotics in their diet is the lack of side effects. Psoriasis 

Recent studies have suggested that ingesting probiotic supplements may help improve skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Research is still being done to find others benefit for our health. 

Can probiotics improve skin conditions like psoriasis, acne, and eczema?

 The relationship between the gut and the skin has been very clear, and it has been observed that in people with pathological skin conditions, the gut has a specific microbiota or microorganisms. 

Due to these findings, the beauty industry has decided to include probiotics in some of the skincare products. They are not only able to regulate the pH, but they also help to regenerate the dermal barrier. 

Can probiotics improve skin conditions like psoriasis, acne, and eczema?

Apart from consuming supplements with probiotics, there is also a way to get them through food, and here we will tell you how:

  • Increase consumption of foods rich in vitamin C, such as green, yellow, and orange fruits and vegetables.
  • Increase fiber consumption in the diet; for this, you can substitute bread and rice for whole-grain versions. 
  • Integrate foods rich in prebiotics such as onion, banana, garlic, and yogurt.
