Scalp’s health is important for healthy hair. It is believed that shampoo and conditioning aren’t enough. There is a need for scalp scrub. Let’s find out why.
Like our skin, the head also sheds dead skin cells, and it is very much prone to accumulate dirt, dust, excess oils and those dead cells. Together all this build-up congests the scalp, damaging the hair follicle and causing dandruff, oily scalp and hair fall. This is more common in individuals with fine hair. That’s where scalp scrub comes to save us. It helps to get rid of this build-up and let the hair breathe by promoting its growth.
A scalp scrub works on the same principle as a body scrub. In scalp scrub, we also have physical and chemical scrubs. There are many DIY scrubs also available. But the primary function of all of these scrubs is the same, i.e. to exfoliate the scalp. Use a gentle scalp scrub and observe results by seeing the growth and health of your hair.
Choose whichever product suits you well but don’t exfoliate your scalp more than once a week. If you have any scalp condition like sores, psoriasis, eczema, acne, etc., scalp scrubs can aggravate your condition, so it is advised to avoid using them.
