Tips to Treat Thin Hair

Thin hair is a severe concern for both men and women. Here is a detailed guide with some tips on how to address this issue.

Minor to moderate hair loss is referred to as hair thinning. It doesn’t mean you will be bald, but you can be left with thin hair. Your scalp might be visible, and the overall volume of your hair might be lost. This happens gradually, that’s why you still have a chance to address it adequately and reverse it.

First of all, identify the possible cause. It can be a lifestyle, your genetics or both. Lifestyle is the modifiable cause. It might involve harsh hair products, overtreatment of hair, too-tight hairstyles, low intake of minerals, poor diet, sudden weight loss, postpartum or any hormonal disease like PCOS.

Identify your cause and work on it to reverse your hair thinning. Apart from that, you can opt for the following tips to help you grow your hair back:

  • Massage your scalp regularly with suitable oil like castor oil or olive oil, etc.
  • Try essential oils like rosemary. They can help you with hair regrowth.
  • Opt for anti-thinning shampoo.
  • Start taking supplements containing iron, folic acid, biotin, zinc, etc.
  • Try out OTC minoxidil hair spray.
