Rose water is an ingredient that has been used for hundreds of years and that can be found in a great number of skincare products, thanks to its antioxidant and soothing properties.
How is rose water obtained?
You can obtain rose water by mixing rose petals with distilled water. Take 500mL of distilled water in a pot, add about 500mg of rose petals, and put it in the fire until it boils; after you notice your water is boiling, keep it on low heat for about five minutes.
Let it rest for at least one hour and remove the petals; then, you can put all the water in a glass or plastic container (preferably one that allows you to use it as a spray for easy use) and keep it refrigerated.
What are the benefits of rose water?
- Eliminates impurities: It can eliminate excessive sebum, so it is recommended for oily skin and acne-prone skin.
- Promotes healing: It is antiseptic and antibacterial, accelerating the healing and scarring process.
- It has anti-inflammatory properties: It can improve irritation, under eye bags and even improve rosacea.
- It has anti-aging properties: It is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, so it prevents free radical oxidation resulting in the prevention of wrinkles and other signs of aging.
