Can You Put Vaseline On Your Dry skin and Flaky Face in Winters?

Everybody tends to have dry skin, at least in winters. However, people with naturally dry skin are more prone to flaky and itchy skin. Vaseline is known for its hydrating benefits, but let’s find out if it is good to use on your face’s skin.

Vaseline has a long history of skin-soothing and healing, particularly for dry and chafed skin. However, people are generally more careful while putting it on their faces, mainly because it is too heavy and might cause skin breakouts. But considering the dryness and flakiness observed in winters on your face, Vaseline is not a bad option. In fact, it is recommended for dry and sensitive skin, which is itchy and uncomfortable. Vaseline soothes your skin, helps you get rid of flakiness, and hydrates it. It protects skin from the harshness of the winter season.

However, one cannot ignore the acne and skin breakouts caused by Vaseline. But it is to inform that these side effects are primarily seen in oily and acne-prone skin types. So if you have acne-prone skin, don’t apply Vaseline to your face. If you don’t have acne-prone skin, you can apply Vaseline on your skin. However, once the calmness of skin is achieved, it is better to switch to other hydrating options.
