Both facial oils and serums are trending these days. Though some people use them for the same purpose, they are different in their composition, functions, and uses. Let’s discuss this in detail.
Facial serums: These are essential supplements used for treating skin conditions like wrinkles, fine lines, dullness, dryness, acne, etc. They are lightweight with a small molecular size and penetrate deep into the skin.
Keep in mind that you will need a small amount of serum to apply all over your face. Apply your facial serum after cleansing your skin but before applying moisturizer. Always apply it on cool but dry skin.
Facial oils: These are a little heavier than serums. They have a larger molecular size and penetrate on upper layers only. Facial oils are usually made up of one or more types of oils. These oils are mostly essential oils used for nourishing, protecting, and moisturizing your skin because of their fatty content. They improve the skin barrier.
Facial serums are a little pricey in comparison to the facial oils. But both have their own benefits. One can use either of them or can layer up to get more benefits. Selection of appropriate facial oils or serums is necessary. Always consider your skin type and condition before choosing a product.
