How to Prevent Smelly Armpits or Body Odor

When the pits of our hair get really sweaty, bacteria become more inclined to reside in the area and this causes our (what we call) “body odor”. This is why sweat control is the first step that you should take if you want to get rid of the smell.

However, sweat is not entirely easy to deal with because it is influenced by a lot of factors such as your genes, hormones, stress, diet, and medicines (if you are taking any). 

So here are a few practices that might help to keep your underarms free of smell:

Keep yourself clean Body Odor

Since the smell stems from a cocktail of sweat and bacteria, you can try using antibacterial soap for your underarms to keep bacteria at bay. And of course, do not forget to take a shower at least once a day to avoid dirt from occupying the area. 

Keep your clothes clean

Make sure to change your clothes after working out or whenever you get really sweaty.

Also, wash your clothes properly especially in the areas where your shirt touches your armpits. The smell of your sweat can linger if not washed off properly.

Keep a clean diet

Although more research is needed, theories say that refined sugars can mess up with the flora in your skin which alters the smell of your sweat.
