Tips to take care of your skin during cold weather

For sure you have noticed that during cold weather your skin changes completely. Our skin is the largest organ of our body and somehow is always exposed to good and bad weather conditions. This kind of weather is known to cause dryness, inflammation, and can even reactivate conditions like eczema and psoriasis.  So in this article, we are going to leave you some tips so you can take care of your body during cold weather.

Body care during cold weather

  1. Use shower gel with moisturizer properties: try the ones with ingredients like shea butter, aloe vera, and glycerin.
  2. Apply moisturizer especially on your feet: Apply them and then cover them with socks before sleep. But make sure to remove calluses and built up of dead skin before start using the moisturizer, this way you can allow the product to go deeper
  3. Use hand moisturizer as much as needed: especially after washing them, unless you are using gloves your hand will be exposed to cold air 24/7, you can use a moisturizer with glycerin after washing them, and before bed.
  4. Take shorter showers: use warm water and apply full body moisturizer right after, this will help you to maintain the water you just absorbed.
  5. Exfoliate your body: you can use sugar or gel scrubs, do not forget your elbows and feet, these are the areas that tend to get dryer during this season.

Face care 

  • Try micellar water: it will not make your skin dry. Avoid cleansers that strip a lot of oil from your skin, especially the ones with salicylic acid or alcohol.
  • Apply aloe vera or hyaluronic acid mask more often: change of weather will make your skin dryer
  • Use a richer moisturizer: if you are using a lightweight moisturizer, start using one enriched with vitamins and avoid retinoids.
  • Add a serum
  • Avoid excess exfoliation: once or twice a week is enough.
  • Apply lip balm: this will save your lips from getting cracked.
  • Keep using SPF
