2 Ingredient Facial Serum Recipe For All Skin Types

An easy to make, cheap, yet very effective 2 ingredient facial serum recipe that will fix oh-so-many skin woes!

Ever wonder what crafty mastermind in your body is responsible for the production of all that oil, or lack thereof, on your face? Well, lurking in the depths of your skin tissues are the sebaceous glands. These microscopic glands located throughout all areas of the skin and connected to hair follicles produce sebum (a.k.a that face and hair oil you are already familiar with) to work in multiple ways for that largest organ covering your body.

Basically, if your skin was a night club, sebum is the bouncer; it prevents your skin from losing water while also keeping excess water from coming in. Sebum also maintains elasticity and defends against infections caused by bacteria and fungi. As beneficial as it is, many people struggle with either too much sebum resulting in over-oily skin, or not enough which leaves skin dry and irritated. Luckily, there is a quick and easy oil blend to help balance sebum levels and create that healthy glow!

Facial Serum Recipe

For the base: Jojoba oil is structurally similar to sebum while being light and easily absorbable making it ideal for all skin types. It naturally balances sebum levels and contains minerals that help improve the skin’s natural glow. It may also help eliminate wrinkles, and because it boasts natural forms of vitamin E, can work like antioxidants fighting toxins that damage the skin.

For extra nourishment: Like jojoba, rosehip oil is also structurally similar to sebum while being quickly absorbed and nourishing for all skin types. It can brighten dark spots, help scars heal and is anti-aging!

Ingredients:

  • 4 tsp Jojoba oil
  • 2 tsp Rosehip oil
  • (optional) An essential oil such as lavender or chamomile for aromatherapy and aromatics

Directions:

Using a 1 oz glass bottle fill ? full with jojoba oil (about 4 tsp) then top the remaining ? with rosehip oil (about 2 tsp), finally adding 2 to 3 drops of essential oil of choice for an extra boost.
