How to Prevent Ingrown Hair in winters?

Ingrown hair is painful all year round, but some of us see increased ingrown hair in winters. Let’s discuss how to prevent them in this season.                                       

Winters has a high tendency to make your skin dry. This results in rough and flaky skin due to the accumulation of dead skin cells. This skin condition favors the formation of ingrown hair by blocking its growth. That’s why some of us observe more ingrown hair in winters than in summers. So even if you usually don’t need to do some extra body care, you might need to prevent these painful bumps ingrown hairs in winters. Let’s list down some essential body care tips:

  • Exfoliation is the key to preventing ingrown hair. Use a mild physical scrub or exfoliator to get rid of accumulated dead skin cells. Exfoliate your body at least one day before shaving.
  • While you can easily exclude body moisturizer from your body care, you desperately need it in winters. Moisturization will prevent dry flakes that contribute to worsening the ingrown hair. So apply a hydrating product regularly.
  • Use a sharp-bladed razor and clean it with water after each stroke.
  • Make sure you shave in the direction in which hair grows.
