What is it?
It is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that makes use of ultrasound waves to reduce fat in the body.
It is known to be a milder alternative to liposuction.
How does it work?
The ultrasound waves are delivered into the deeper layers of the skin, creating vibrations that break fat cells into pieces. Once broken apart, they are dislodged and are flushed out through the lymphatic system after a few days.
Where can it be used?
- Stomach
- Thighs
- Arms
- Face
How do you prepare for it?
✓ Make sure to disclose any medical condition, as well as, implants and pacemakers.
✓ Do not drink alcohol within 24 hours of your treatment to reduce body heat and dehydration.
✓ Do not apply anything that can exfoliate the skin the night before to reduce possible irritation or sensitivity on the treated area.
✓Drink a lot of water before (and after) the treatment to help flush out the fat.
What can you expect?
However, since it is a non-invasive procedure, you cannot expect to lose a drastic amount of weight. It can only lessen fat to contour areas of concern.
Some of the most common side effects are redness, bruising, and heaviness.
