If you follow any beauty blog or even any news channel, for sure you read Linda Evangelista’s thoughts about an aesthetic treatment about which she claims caused disfiguration on her face and most of her body. In her statement, she mentions that the treatment known as Coolsculpting instead of reducing her fat cells (as advertised) did the opposite and hasn’t been able to correct the sequels caused by it.
The Coolsculpting treatment is one of the most famous aesthetics treatments worldwide, also known as Cryolipolysis. The main objective is to remove the stubborn fat by freezing it in areas like the abdomen, double chin, arms, handles, knee, and other areas.
Cryolipolysis can be considered a safe treatment; however, it is not exempt from side effects, like any other aesthetic treatment, and Linda Evangelista was one of the unluckiest. She developed a condition known as PAH (Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia), which makes them grow instead of reducing the fat cells. To correct her side effect, she underwent a couple of liposuctions to get rid of the unwanted fat, but nothing has worked so far; it is not a usual response to the treatment, and most physicians still don’t explain the mechanism of action or exact cause.
