Why You Need to Explore Your Skin Microbiome

When it comes to health, it is always accompanied by natural microbiota,  the same is in the case of our skin. Let’s discuss why it is essential to explore your skin’s natural microbiome.

Why You Need to Explore Your Skin Microbiome

Trillions of microorganisms live on and in various layers of our skin, mainly bacteria, and they are termed as skin’s microbiome. Although these are microbes too they are beneficial for our skin. In fact, they protect our skin from harmful microbes. They control immunity, help in nutrient absorption and play a role in strengthening the skin’s natural barrier.

You definitely need to know everything about your skin’s natural microbiome and why it is important to maintain them. There has to be a balance. But our lifestyle and skincare routine can do otherwise. If these microbes go out of control or are disrupted, our skin pays the loss in either case. Common symptoms of the compromised microbiome are eczema, sensitivity, overproduction of sebum, frequent breakouts, etc.

Why You Need to Explore Your Skin Microbiome

It is suggested to be more mindful of your skin’s microbiome while choosing skin care products. Be gentle with ingredients. Don’t opt for too harsh or too many ingredients or over-treat your skin. Focus on ingredients that nourish your skin and its microbiome. It will return with healthy and beautiful skin.
