Why Dry Skin Is More Prone to Develop Wrinkles?

You must have heard that you should use anti aging creams if you have dry skin as you are more prone to develop fine lines and wrinkles. Let’s find out if it is true or not.

Genetically dry skin is thinner than other skin types. This skin type has smaller pores and a smoother skin surface. Because of lack of sebum or oil production, it looks drier. On this type of skin, fine lines and wrinkles appear more prominent.

Yes, it is correct that dry skin shows exaggerated fine lines and wrinkles, but that doesn’t mean aging faster than other skin types. So this myth isn’t correct. Instead, these exaggerated wrinkles appear because dry skin lacks a natural moisturizer that is sebum. And those skins with more sebum production are moisturized properly and look plump with fewer wrinkles.

Dry skin is dehydrated skin. When you apply a moisturizer over it, its wrinkles or fine lines will be no longer visible. But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be concerned. If you have dry skin, you should never skip moisturizer and sunscreen. Also, add antioxidants to your skincare. Take a balanced diet and exercise regularly.
