How are lip fillers done?
Before the actual procedure, a numbing cream will be applied to your lips for 30 to 45 minutes. Lip Fillers
Once your lips have gone numb, your aesthetic physician will assess where to inject the fillers and how much of the product you’ll need to achieve the kind of lips you want.
Perhaps, in 15 to 20 minutes, you are good to go with your newly filled lips.
Is it painful?
The answer is there is still pain but it is lessened by the numbing cream applied beforehand. Lip Fillers
Applying ice during the procedure also works as a good distraction from the pain.
How long do the fillers last?
Just like fillers in other areas, they are supposed to last for 6 to 18 months.
However, the lips move a lot when we talk and eat. So, they end up disappearing faster depending on the amount injected.
What to expect?
The common side effect is bruising, but it hardly happens.
Do know that the difference with your lips will be more visible than getting fillers on the cheeks. So, if you want to play it safe (and you don’t want to look like Angelina Jolie in one go), you can always ask your doctor to inject gradually with a 2-week interval in between sessions.
