What is drinkable retinol?

To those who have tried retinol, you would surely understand why there’s an enormous demand for it.

The long-term results are rewarding despite the purging phase that you would have to go through.

Because of retinol’s amazing effects on the skin, some skincare brands have found a way to add it to our diet. And yes, that means ingesting retinol.

Vitamin A can be in the form of retinoids (including retinol) and beta-carotene. The former is found in topical skincare, while the latter is found in vegetables and fruits.

Drinkable retinol was created for those who can’t tolerate topical retinol because of its irritating effect on the skin while it is being metabolized.

So why not just eat more beta-carotene from carrots?

What is drinkable retinol?

That’s because you would need a bunch of carrots just to convert 1 unit of retinol from beta-carotene.

This is why skincare manufacturers formulated an ingestible form of retinol that does not need to go through so many conversions to be absorbed and to take effect in the skin.

However, does this really work? retinol

There are still divided opinions about it.

A lot of skincare users are still not convinced due to the lack of evidence of its absorption. But if you have extra funds for it, there’s no harm in trying. Just make sure not to take it along with other Vitamin A derivatives to avoid toxicity.
