Have you been paying less attention to your heels and eventually noticed that they are getting rougher than usual with crevices? Cracked Heels
This happens when our heels do not get enough moisture, which leads to a damaged skin barrier.
So here are a few steps that you can simply insert into your self-care routine to give your feet some TLC.
Peel it off Cracked Heels
There’s no better way to remove your dead skin cells than exfoliating your heels at least once a week. You can easily do this at home by using creams and lotions that contain urea, alpha hydroxy acids, or beta hydroxy acids.
There are also foot masks that you can soak your feet into for 10 to 20 minutes which can result in visible peeling after 2 to 3 days. If your foot mask creates a significant amount of peel, you can reduce exfoliation to once every 2 or 3 weeks.
Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize
After taking a shower, preferably before going to bed, slather some moisture-loving creams or lotions that contain petrolatum, glycerin, ceramides, cera alba, and/or shea butter.
There are a lot of foot creams available over-the-counter that are mixed with ingredients that can also address a specific foot concern like sweaty feet, foot odor, diabetic foot, and tired feet.
Sock it up
You can seal in the moisture by wearing cotton socks overnight. And you’ll be surprised at how soft your feet will be the following day!
