Which One Should You Get: Chemical Peel or Laser Treatment?

In this day and age, we don’t have to worry about carrying our marks forever because of the innovation in cosmetics. Both a chemical peel and laser treatment are good for resurfacing the skin, lightening pigments, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

But how do you know which one works better for your skin?

For deeper scars, pigmentations, and wrinkles, a laser might be a better option.

Why?

The settings for a laser machine can be easily manipulated. Meaning, the laser can penetrate deeper layers without having to affect the adjacent areas and burning the skin.

So if you have a specific sunspot or mark that is quite deep and you want to treat it, you might need a laser more than a chemical peel.

So when does a chemical peel become better?

When your marks, fine lines, and scars are not that deep and are distributed all over your face, a peel might be your better pick.

However, unlike lasers, peels are harder to control when it comes to the layers and areas they penetrate, meaning, adjacent areas can be affected.

To know for sure which one you need, it’s always best to consult with your doctor first. It would also be helpful to communicate with him/her your target date, downtime, and frequency as these factors are very important in determining which one suits you best.
