Heat stroke:

Heat stroke is a type of hyperthermia (usually known as overheating) or a disease related to heat. Heat stroke is defined as an unusually high body temperature accompanied by physical symptoms such as alterations in functioning of the nervous system.

Causes:

It happens when you’re exposed to a really hot weather for a long duration in summers.

A type of heatstroke that is caused by the increase of body temperature due to any physical activity in heat is called exertional heatstroke. It can happen to anyone who exercises or works in hot weather, but it’s more likely to happen to people who aren’t adapted to high temperatures.

Sign and symptoms of heat stroke (sun stroke):

  1. Tiredness
  2. Dizziness
  3. Headache
  4. Feeling sick
  5. Excessive sweating
  6. Fast breathing
  7. Cramps in the body

Treatment

Heatstroke treatment centers on cooling your body to a normal temperature to prevent or reduce damage to your brain and vital organs.

The basic 4 rules of treatment when you experience heat stroke:

  1. Immerse you in cold water.
  2. Use evaporation cooling techniques.
  3. Pack you with ice and cooling blankets.
  4. Give you medications to stop your shivering as soon as possible.

Pro-tip:

Wear clothes that are loose and comfortable which don’t fit tightly and keep your body cool in your daily routine.

Save your body from heat stroke, it can be lethal!
