For many of us, it is pretty challenging to put foundation nicely, and almost every time, it turns out to be cakey. Here are a few tips for you to fix your caking foundation.
Applying foundation is a matter of technique. You have to apply it nicely, so it gives the right coverage without looking like another skin over your face. You have to apply moisturizer on your skin, prime your skin with an excellent primer and then apply a foundation so that it sits well. It does not matter if you use a makeup brush, a blender, or your fingers, but blending is essential.
However, people with oily or combination skin still get a cakey look. They should:
- Apply a small amount of foundation at a time. You can apply more if needed but blending a small amount is easier.
- Take your time and blend your foundation as much as you can.
- Apply a translucent powder or a facial spray, focusing on oily areas, particularly T-zone and under-eye areas.
- Set their foundation using a setting spray.
Apart from this, make sure you choose the right foundation type based on your skin type. Concealer and its consistency also matter. It is advised to go for something less thick or creamy for oily skin, whether it’s a foundation or the concealer.
