It seems significantly easier to pick a shampoo for your hair. But it isn’t. You tend to focus on your split ends whether you have dry or color treated hair. But you need to know that shampoo is used to do cleansing. This cleansing is more focused on the roots than your hair. Experts say while choosing a shampoo, keep in mind what kind of your scalp is. 

Like our skin, our scalp can be of three types:

Dry scalp:

  • It feels tighter every time or at least after every wash. 
  • It can be itchy with or without any white flakes.
  • This kind of scalp needs deeply hydrating shampoo.

How Does Your Scalp Determine Your Shampoo Selection?

Oily scalp:

  • It is a shiny scalp with or without clumps of dandruff flakes.
  • It becomes oily soon after washing with a shampoo.
  • An oily scalp needs a more cleansing shampoo than moisturizing.

Combination:

  • People with a combination type of scalp are lucky. It is neither dry nor oily.
  • It tends to get oily after 2-3 days of washing.
  • Good cleansing shampoo suits well with combination scalp.
