What is a facial mask?
Facial masks are products with multiple functions that can moisturize, brighten, and clean your skin. Some can improve the signs of aging and pigmentation. The difference between face masks and some creams is the number of active ingredients they contain, so their results are almost instantaneous.
There are many types of masks, among which we can find:
- Moisturizing: Recommended for people with dry or dehydrated skin, they can reverse the skin’s tightness thanks to their ingredients.
- Soothing: Ideal for sensitive skin, they can improve redness.
- Purifying: Can be used weekly; they provide luminosity, eliminate impurities, and control sebum production.
- Flash effect: They contain hyaluronic acid, vitamins, collagen, they are generally the ones we see with a mask, so they adapt well to the skin allowing a fast absorption of the active ingredients.
How to apply them?
- Cleansing: it is the first step before applying any facial treatment.
- Exfoliation: if you are looking to use a mask to treat a particular condition, you should exfoliate to improve your treatment effectiveness.
- Apply the mask, avoiding applying it too close to the eyes.
- Leave the mask on for the recommended time (time may vary, read the instructions).
- Remove with lukewarm water
