The best practices for children’s skincare routine should be simple. It’s a must to take care of a baby’s skin so you will help to develop a stronger skin barrier as your baby grows. Below are some tips to make sure the skin always stays perfect and smooth.
- Bathing

Bathing is necessary to wash off all the dirt the baby has accumulated. It’s not needed to bathe the newborn every day, because they rarely sweat and frequent bathing makes your baby’s skin dry.
- Moisturize

Moisturizing your baby’s skin is very important. You should apply a thick, non-fragranced moisturizer after bathing to prevent the skin from drying out. If your baby’s skin is always dry, you need to apply it 2-4 times per day.
- Chemical-free
A child’s skin is very sensitive to all chemical substances. When you choose soaps or lotion look for mild, organic brands which don’t use a lot of chemicals. Some substances inside soaps, shampoos can trigger eczema, that’s why you need to choose products carefully.
- Oil

Massaging your baby’s skin with oil an hour before their bath has plenty of benefits for the skin. For example, jojoba oil is very effective in soothing your baby’s skin and treating many skin-related conditions.
- Sun protection

Baby skin is very sensitive to UV light. Babies less than 12 months shouldn’t be exposed to direct sunlight. When avoiding the sun isn’t possible, you can apply a layer of a baby-safe sunscreen with an SPF above 30.
