Are Those White Spots on Your Nails of any serious concern?

Many of us have observed white spots on our fingers and toenails. Some people get anxious about them. Let’s find out if they need any attention or not.                          

White spots on your nails are very common and generally harmless. It can be a tiny dot or white spots larger in size and stretch across the nail. It can appear on one or several nails. 

It can occur because of many reasons. The most common cause is an injury to the nail bed. This can happen due to a strike on your nail or finger, or frequent manicure/pedicure treatments, or the use of gel or acrylic nails can also cause it. Apart from this, these White Spots on Your Nails can develop because of any mineral deficiency such as Zinc or calcium. These spots can also be a sign of an allergic or fungal infection.          

Are Those White Spots on Your Nails of any serious concern? If these spots are infrequent, it might be because of injury and not of much concern. If these marks are persistent or slowly becoming worse, then it’s better to see your doctor. Its treatment depends upon its cause. If it’s due to an injury, it can heal on its own.

If there isn’t any severe concern and you are anxious for cosmetic reasons, you can hide them with nail polish. Skin-toned nail paint is the best way to cover these white spots.
