Harm caused by popping pimples?

While a deadly infection is within the skin, the effects of popping a pimple by your hands will make the infection spread. Breaking the skin’s surface anywhere (on your face or body) poses a risk of bacteria entering the bloodstream, which is the main concern as due to this way infection spreads and more breakouts happen.

What happens if you pop too many pimples?

Popping a pimple is something you should make every effort to avoid. Doing so can cause a hair follicle to rupture that pushes the infection deeper into skin tissues. This can lead to skin inflammation, scarring, discoloration, and the formation of new pimples in nearby areas.

What to do after you pop a pimple?

Follow a post pimple-popping skin care.

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with an antibacterial soap.
  • Apply an antibiotic ointment, such as bacitracin, with clean hands or a clean cotton swab.

Can I put vaseline on a popped pimple?
