Morpheus8: A Machine for Tightening the Skin

What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is an FDA-approved machine that makes use of both the technology of microneedling and radiofrequency.

Microneedling (as the name implies) makes use of tiny needles that are inserted into your skin. These very fine needles create small skin injuries that are necessary to stimulate the natural healing process of the skin which involves collagen and elastin formation.

When combined with radiofrequency, RF heat is delivered to the deeper layers. This is why the combination allows the device to target both the epidermis and dermis for better results. It can penetrate as deep as 8mm into the skin and can cover both small and large treatment areas.

What can it do?

Given the mechanism of action, it can address:

Who are the best candidates for this kind of treatment?

Anyone who would want to address the problems mentioned above as long as there are no existing active lesions on the areas that you wish to treat.

If you are taking blood thinners and have other existing medical conditions, it is best to check with your primary physician before starting with this treatment.

What can you expect and what to do right after?

Redness and a bit of sensitivity are expected on the treated areas for 5 to 7 days.

You might be asked not to wash for 24 hours for faster healing and to avoid complications. A post-treatment cream should also be applied twice daily for 7 days to help in the recovery.

Remember to wear sunblock every morning to avoid pigmentations from sun exposure.
