Despite religiously following your skincare routine, are you worried that it is not working for you? This might be because you are making some mistakes. Let’s understand some of the most common skincare mistakes that are hindering you from benefiting.
Designing skincare is not as easy as putting any random product on your skin. Every product should be thoughtfully picked according to your skin and its needs. Here are the most common skincare mistakes:
- Using harmful skincare ingredients:
Several ingredients are notorious because of their harmful and toxic effects on either our skin or body. Read the ingredients list of every product before buying such as phthalates, parabens, silicone, sulfates, etc. Try using dermatologically tested or certified products.
- Not moisturizing oily products:
You need to understand that oily skin needs moisture and hydration too. In fact, excessive oily skin is dehydrated skin. Don’t be afraid of facial oils and moisturizing products. Choose non-comedogenic products.
- Not exfoliating properly:
Exfoliation is important for beautiful skin. Too little exfoliation will make your skin dull. Too much exfoliation might give you soft skin, but it will cause damage in the long run.
- Not using enough SPF:
Opt for a sunscreen with the right SPF. Please don’t rely on foundation or moisturizers with infused SPF because often, they are too little for our daily requirements.
- Not considering your skin type before choosing a product:
Your skin type is unique and defines what your skin needs. The wrong product can result in more harm than benefits.
