How to take care of your healthy feet during summer?

Summer is coming and with its dryness in our skin, especially in our feet. Summer increases the chances of having dryness on your skin, but there are other factors such as age, wrong shoes, and lack of hydration which can contribute to that. 

Here you have some recommendations to maintain healthy feet:

  • You must prepare your foot before using open-toe shoes: You must prepare your healthy feet for the transition of closed to open shoes, especially paying attention to the skin’s hydration in the area where friction can happen to prevent calluses.
  • Find the perfect shoe for you: Blisters can occur commonly during summer as friction and heat are not a good combination; hence, chances of getting them are higher. 
  • Avoid leather or cotton shoes: Even if these materials are great, they are not suitable for summer. Instead, you can try materials like esparto that will allow your skin to breathe and avoid excess sweating. 
  • Avoid using flip flops for long walks: Even if they are fresh, they don’t hold your feet properly and, in the long run, can cause sunburns by excessive sun exposure and even fasciitis or lessons on your ligaments. 
  • Never forget your moisturizer: Don’t use the same that you apply to your body; your foot skin is thicker in some area and has different requirements, just find one specially designed for the area and apply after each shower. healthy feet
