How to Take Care of Your Baby’s Skin

Baby’s Skin is the softest skin you would ever feel; however, that doesn’t mean you don’t need to take care of it. Being the most extensive organ in the body, special care should be done, especially during early life stages where the skin is delicate.

Here we will show you what you need to know to maintain your Baby’s Skin under control

 Skin

Sometimes Baby’s Skin is not perfect and can show areas with redness and flaking; especially after they are born, like the knees, elbows, and wrists. All this is part of newborn development; make sure you use a soft lotion to help with lubrication and dryness in the area, and shortly after, you will see results.

The use of lotions or moisturizers shouldn’t be forgotten even if your baby’s skin looks perfect; try non-fragrance products and avoid sunscreen and strong ingredients. The guardian should use the same or similar product; because remember that you are in constant contact with the baby’s skin.

 Nails

Nails in newborns are thin, sharp, and grow fast; hence you will need to cut them at least twice a week to prevent them from hurting themselves. Only use special tools for babies, and it is recommended to do it while they sleep. On the other hand, toenails don’t grow so fast, and cutting them twice a month should be enough.

Careful with new baby clothes

Some new clothes can still have traces of chemical substances, or even after you wash them, detergent can be found that can cause allergy or other reactions on baby skin. To avoid this, wash every piece of clothes and sheets before using it for the first time and always use a soft detergent and wash separately from your clothes.

What about the SPF in babies?

In newborns, other forms of sun protection should be used, for example, clothes and hats. If your baby is older than six months, it is okay to apply sunscreen; you can reapply every two hours if during exposure.
