Everything You Should Know About Microshading

By now, everybody is familiar with microblading, where people get a hair-by-hair tattoo to replace the eyebrows, but what do you know about microshading?

Microshading is a procedure where the therapist will apply a semi-permanent ink to fill the empty spaces in your eyebrows, making the illusion that they look full. It is considered the light version of microblading.

In the beginning, it may look a bit dark, but don’t worry because soon the color will become light, giving you a natural result. This result is similar to when you just apply eye shadow to your eyebrows on your daily makeup.

What is the aftercare after my first treatment?

  • Use a soft cloth to clean your eyebrows.
  • Apply the moisturizer and other products recommended by your therapist.
  • Apply SPF and avoid prolonged sun exposure.
  • Avoid wet makeup, pools, and baths for the week after your treatment.

How can I make the results last longer?

The most important step is to avoid waxing your eyebrows; by doing this, you will also produce an exfoliation of the area; therefore, the pigment will be removed every time. Try using a tweezer or threads to remove unwanted hair. Also, if you are looking to go a step further, you can combine microshading with microneedling.
