Everything You Need To Know About Skin Fasting

We already know that fasting is healthy, scientifically proven.

But what about skin fasting?

When you are tired of skin products and skincare routines then maybe the time has come to let your skin naturally function the way it was intended to without the help of skincare products.

Keep scrolling to find out more about it!

What is skin fasting?

Giving your skin a break from all of your usual skincare products and routine will allow it to breathe, rest, and rejuvenate. The idea is to allow your skin to regenerate its stratum corneum barrier layer in order to promote greater skin health and resilience. It can also be a useful tool for identifying products that are causing skin rashes, breakouts, or other issues.

Skin Fasting

How do you skin fast?

You should completely cease using all of your skincare products for a total skin fast.

No cleansing, toning, applying serum, hydrator, or moisturizer. The basic strategy is to let your skin’s natural sebum [oil] perform all the balancing and protection. It’s crucial to pay attention to your skin’s hints during the procedure, which might take a few days to a few weeks.

There are different ways to skin fast for people who don’t want to remove all of their skincare routine for example if you remove one product at a time just until the skin irritant is found,  which is considered more of a milder type of skin fasting.

Who should try skin fasting?

Skin fasting may be advantageous for people with sensitive skin, but actually, anyone that doesn’t have skin disorders can experiment with skin fasting, particularly those who believe their skin requires a reboot.

Who should avoid skin fasting?

Skin fasting is not recommended for those who have skin disorders like eczema, uncontrolled acne, rosacea, melasma, or other skin disorders that do require topical products to help.

Consult your dermatologist before taking any extreme measures with your skin!
