All You Need To Know About Sunblock

Sunblock protects the skin. It plays an important role in blocking ultraviolet (UV) radiation from being absorbed by the skin. UV radiation damages the skin and can lead to sunburns and skin cancer.

Wearing sunblock regularly is one of the best and easiest ways to protect your skin appearance and health at any age.

When should I use sunblock?

Every day! The best practice is to apply 30 minutes before going outside to allow the sunblock to absorb into your skin. Re-apply after every two hours of exposure and immediately after swimming or excessive sweating. Even when it’s cloudy, up to 80 percent of the sun’s UV radiation reaches the earth.

Amount of sunblock to apply:

Only pea sized sunblock is enough to completely cover your palm. Squeeze your sunblock into your hand, and apply it to your face, neck, arms, and legs.

Can sunblock remove dark spots?

Whether you’re treating the dark spots on your own or seeing a dermatologist, using a sunblock is essential when you’ll be outside. When applied daily, sunblock can prevent new dark spots and patches. It can also help to clear existing ones. You’ll want to apply sunscreen to all skin that clothing won’t cover.
