Since the first moment you find out you are pregnant, you will notice many changes in your body, being one of them your skin condition, this one becomes more sensitive and can be affected by hormones and external factors. One of the biggest problems with pregnancy is skin pigmentation, stretch marks, and acne, but don’t worry, all of them can be prevented.
Spots: Especially around the nose and mouth; this spot is known as “chloasma” and results from the hormonal alterations of pregnancy. Similarly, a dark line may appear on the abdomen, known as “linea nigra,” that disappears after delivery, and you may notice also that certain moles or freckles darken.
To prevent this you must wear sunscreen and avoid sun exposure at all costs. If you notice that the pigmentation does not disappear on its own after delivery, you can try using depigmentation products, as long as your doctor approves them.
Stretch marks: The breakdown of the surface layer of the skin, known as stretch marks, is caused by the rapid increase in volume in the body, which causes the skin to stretch. The best way to avoid this is to use moisturizing products all over the body from the first moment of pregnancy.
Acne: In some cases, hormones will increase sebum production, causing acne throughout pregnancy. To avoid it, you must have a good beauty routine, do not forget to clean your face well, and avoid products with oil or products that are too heavy for your skin.
