This era is all about trends. Some beauty ingredients got hyped, so they are really trendy, while some unsung heroes play a crucial role for us. But we don’t know a lot about them. Panthenol is one of the ingredients that fall in the second category. Let’s find out more about it.
Panthenol is a precursor ingredient, commonly known as provitamin B5. Our body converts it into B5 or pantothenic acid. This conversion is possible in the topical application too. It is basically known for moisturization. But it does a lot more than mere moisturization:
- It holds the water and adds it to the skin.
- It is involved in cell proliferation and wound healing.
- It also has anti-inflammatory properties.
- And it plays a supporting role in the skin’s natural barrier.
Panthenol is a safe ingredient that can be paired with any other beauty ingredient. It can be combined with other moisturizers like hyaluronic acid, ceramides, etc. They are also safe for every skin type and are perfect for daily use. It is commonly found in moisturizers, anti-inflammatory creams, sunburn treatment products, etc. Though it is not known for causing any skin issue, it is still better to do a patch test.
