It is pretty normal to observe your hair turn slightly dry with climate change. But if you feel that they have become coarse and dry, then don’t lose hope. You can still get back to your soft and shiny hair. Here is the guide for you.

For finfing a better solution, you must know why your hair became coarse. Each strand of our hair is coated with a protective layer called the cuticle. This layer is tightly bound to our hair, retaining the moisture. When this layer is damaged, it separates or peels off the hair strand, leaving reduced moisture content. Hence your hair starts appearing dry, coarse and rough.
Possible causes for damaged cuticle can be:
- Overexposure to the sun.
- Use of alcohol-based products.
- Frequently hair treatments and styling.
- Hormonal changes like oral contraceptive pills, pregnancy, menopause, etc.

For treatment, focus on recovering your cuticle and adding the lost moisture. For this purpose, provide your hair with all the required nutrition for damage repair. Apply hair oils and hair masks to regain lost moisture. Cut down harsh chemicals from your hair care and limit the heat and hair treatments. Focus on your diet and take your vitamins. Slowly you will see your hair recovering.
