What Is Electrolysis Technique for Hair Removal?

Apart from many hair removal options, electrolysis is another popular technique to remove unwanted hair. In fact, it is a more targeted technique. Let’s dig into the details.

What Is Electrolysis Technique for Hair Removal?

Electrolysis is a hair removal technique that is done by a dermatologist. It involves the insertion of an epilator into the skin, which works by using short-wave radio frequencies. These waves damage the hair follicle, making the existing hair fall out and preventing any new growth. It is an FDA-approved permanent solution to get rid of unwanted body hair. However, it needs several sessions for optimal results.

Electrolysis is a versatile technique suitable for all skin types and body areas. Although it is a low-maintenance technique with proven safety and longevity, minor side effects like redness, pain, or irritation can be observed temporarily. However, one downside of this procedure is that it is a slow process. As it means removing individual hair, you get to target each hair follicle which takes time. So it might stretch away your sessions.

Electrolysis is a costly procedure. But unlike lasers, it is backed up by the FDA. So it is safe to say that currently, the best option for hair removal is electrolysis.
