What is Dermaplanning and Why are People interested in it?

So what is dermaplaning and why are people into it? Although this has been around for quite some time, it only started trending just recently.

It is a cosmetic procedure usually done in clinics or medical spas; wherein, a specific size and shape of a blade are used to scrape off fine hairs from your face. (Yes, like dermaplaning shaving but more sophisticated.)

What is Dermaplanning and Why are People interested in it?

What people like about dermaplanning, not only can it remove the fine hairs, but also the dead skin cells on top. In effect, making their skin look clearer and brighter, as well as, allowing their skincare to penetrate better. People love it and rave about feeling better afterward because of all the “peach fuzz” (fine hairs) gone.

However, don’t get too excited to try this at home especially if it’s your first time. It may look simple and easy, but it’s a bit tricky and takes some getting used to. There’s a risk of cutting your skin and developing breakouts from it. So best to have it done by a professional who you could trust to use the right kind of blade has the skill for the technique, and follows a cleaning and disinfection protocol.

Also, know that this is best done on those who don’t have cystic acne, rashes, or any kind of skin problem on their face.
