What Are the Red Moles On Your Skin?

Have you ever observed red moles? They are pretty similar to normal moles. Let’s find out what these red moles signify.

What Are the Red Moles On Your Skin?

Red moles on the skin are bright red in color and circular or oval in shape. Some experience smooth moles that are even to their skin, while some might appear slightly raised. They are more common on arms, legs, shoulders, and chest. They are also called cherry angiomas or senile angiomas. These are common skin growths, usually observed in individuals of age 30 or above. These are reddish in color because small blood vessels are entrapped inside these cherry angiomas.

What Are the Red Moles On Your Skin?

Causes:

The exact cause of their development is unknown. But it is believed that several factors might have a role, such as:

  • Genetics
  • Chemical exposure
  • Pregnancy
  • Climate
  • Medical conditions.

These red moles aren’t of any serious concern unless you observe:

  • Bleeding
  • Change in size, colour or shape

In such cases, you need to see a doctor as it can be as severe as skin cancer. Otherwise, they are pretty normal and harmless; that’s why they don’t need to be removed. If you still want to get them removed for cosmetic reasons, there are some treatment options like electrocauterization, cryosurgery or laser surgery.
