Body scrubbing is a mechanical way of exfoliating skin that helps to remove the upper layer of dead skin cells via abrasive materials like sugar and salt. This stimulates skin cell turnover, resulting in smoother, brighter skin and possibly preventing future breakouts. Body scrubbing would be beneficial only if you use the right ingredients and do it the right way.
Green tea is the best anti-inflammatory agent that can benefit your skin well. As per the research study conducted by the American Dermatology department in 2013, skin care products containing green tea as their basic ingredient may be able to reduce harm to the skin caused by sun damage. Green tea can easily be added to a homemade body scrub together with other nourishing ingredients.
Ingredients:
- A half-cup of hot water
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 teabags of green tea
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
How to prepare the scrub using the above-mentioned ingredients?
- Take a pan and add some water to it and add two tea bags to it. Heat it and wait till all the ingredients from the tea bags get dissolved in water.
- Now take another bowl and add brown sugar and coconut oil as per the above-mentioned quantities. Mix these two well.
- Once the tea has cooled, add it to the sugar mix. The tea must be cool so the sugar doesn’t dissolve.
- If the mixture is too crumbly, add more coconut oil. If it’s too soggy, add more brown sugar.
- When you’ve reached the desired consistency, spoon your scrub into a container.
