How to know if you have oily skin?
It is not hard to recognize however, there are a lot of types of oily skin. If you noticed that your skin is shiny most of the time, especially in the “t-zone,” and your cheeks have enlarged pores or you have prone to blackheads and acne, you definitely suffer from oily skin.
Not every oily skin is the same; some of them can be sensitive, dehydrated, have breakouts or blackheads, but what they have in common is excessive sebaceous glands activity. So it is important to learn how to recognize them to choose a specific treatment and deal with your concerns.
What are the types of oily skin?
- Asphyxiated: It is caused by when astringent products are used in excess, causing occlusion of the pores which result in a sebum alteration producing solidification on the conduct that excretes the sebum, Hence lesions like milia or sebaceous cyst are produced.
- Dehydrated: Oily doesn’t necessarily mean hydrated. Oily skin can get dehydrated when the sebum composition is modified and the lipids quantity decreases; therefore, the skin cannot retain enough water, and dehydration happens.
- Seborrheic: It is mostly caused by a hormonal imbalance that stimulates sebum production. It happens mostly in teenagers; however, adults can still suffer from this condition.
