But sometimes people alopecia not only makes people insecure about their looks but they also lose physical barrier that protects the head from the sun. The head is more exposed to sunlight; hence you must be extremely careful while choosing your protection.

The main questions for bald people during summer are: Should I use sunscreen and hats all the time? And the answer is YES. When your scalp is exposed, your risk of sunburn is higher.

If you are losing your hair, here you have some recommendations to take care of your skin during summer:

  • Sunscreen: Apply SPF 50 and reapply during the day. You can use the “two-finger” rule to determine the right amount for the area.
  • Hats: Choose hats with light colors, avoid dark colors; they tend to absorb more heat; hence it will.
  • Hair growth treatments: You can try topical treatments and microneedling with PRP and even hair transplant. This way, you will not only increase the hair growth, but at the same time, you will be protecting your scalp.
