How to Prevent the Clumping of Mascara?

No matter how much clumpy mascara is in trend, everyone loves the sleek and expertly applied mascara. Here are a few tips for you to prevent your mascara from clumping and get a smooth application.

Mascara can be clumpy because of several reasons that can be related to your applying techniques or mascara itself. Avoiding them can help you avoid the clumping. Some of them are listed as below:

Mascara is expired:

In all beauty products, mascaras expire at a faster rate. Expired mascara is dried with lost luster, and it applies with clumping in the eyelashes.

You didn’t remove the previously applied makeup:

It should be applied over clean eyelashes; there shouldn’t be any residues of previous makeup to result in mascara clumping.

Too much mascara on the wand:

Sometimes a mascara wand brings too much of the mascara that results in clumping. If you see that while applying, simply swipe the wand tip across the edge of the container to remove the excess mascara.

Too many coats of mascara:

You might be applying multiple coats of mascara to get volumized eyelashes, but it can result in spidery lashes because of clumps. Make sure to apply not too many coats that could contribute to clumping.
