Exfoliating your skin is the process of removing dead skin cells. It reduces the dullness of skin, exposing new skin layers. It also improves skin tone. How Many Times You Should Exfoliate Depending Upon Your Skin Type?

  • For dry and sensitive skin, once a week is enough. If your skin can tolerate it, you can go twice a week but don’t go for more. For this skin type, a chemical exfoliant is always a better option than a physical one.
  • You should exfoliate two to three times a week for oily and acne-prone skin or combination skin types. People with this type of skin can opt for chemical or physical exfoliants.
  • For mature skin, you should decrease the frequency. Exfoliating twice a week is enough. And they should also go for a chemical exfoliant.

Make sure you are not over-exfoliating your skin, as over-exfoliation may leave sensitive skin with redness, itching, or pain.
