Hemp oil, the best antioxidant for your skin

Hemp oil is an oil that contains great antioxidant functions and a great soothing and moisturizing agent. There are numerous options to find antioxidant products that are beneficial to our skin. Over time, multiple benefits have been discovered from vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, retinol or glycolic acid, which serve to minimize the signs of aging in our skin; hemp oil is one of them.

Hemp oil is a natural moisturizer; that is, it attracts and retains water in our skin, replenishing essential fatty acids and minimizing wrinkles and expression lines. It can also work as an anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, healing injuries, as an antioxidant, and offering  sun protection.

We must not confuse cannabidiol, obtained from the cold pressing of the hemp plant’s seeds (which is in this type of cosmetics), with THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the molecule responsible for the euphoriant effects of cannabis and is found in marijuana. In other words, you can use this hemp oil-based cosmetic without fear of testing positive or being under the influence of any drug.

What antioxidant benefits does hemp oil have on the skin?

Hemp oil is rich in phenolic acid and vitamin E, so its antioxidant action is enhanced. This supplement helps reduce and attenuate the skin’s irritative and inflammatory processes, so it has an excellent soothing function. It is especially indicated for sensitive, oily, or acne-prone skin, as it is an excellent super-regulator.

Besides, it has a significant amount of essential fatty acids, specifically Omega 3 and Omega 6, and gamma-linolenic acid and stearidonic acid. In short, hemp oil has excellent antioxidant, soothing, sebum-regulating, and moisturizing properties, which makes it one of the most multifunctional active ingredients in existence.
