Vitamin C is mostly used for the skin to improve luminosity, protect against sun damage, pollution, cigarette smoke, increases collagen production, acne, blemishes, and decreases pigmentation.
For all of these reasons and more is why Vitamin C must be an essential part of our daily skin routine.
On the other hand, Vitamin C also helps to thicken the skin barrier and strengthens it, and at the same time, improve wound healing and prevents acne.
During the last years, some people prefer home-made products over professional ones.
One of the reasons for this is that they prefer to avoid preservatives and go for organic ingredients, and there is nothing wrong with it, so we will teach you how to do your own vitamin C serum.
DIY vitamin C serum recipe:
This recipe is not complicated at all, and you just need a couple of ingredients that are easy to find. You will need:
- 7,5g of Vitamin C (powder)
- Liquid glycerine (30g)
- Demineralized water (12g)
How to mix the ingredients?
Mix the demineralized water (warm temperature) with the vitamin powder until this one is completely dissolved, add the glycerine and pour it in an opaque bottle.
It is crucial to keep the bottle away from the sun; leaving it to sunlight will make the product unstable.
When to apply the vitamin C serum?
You can use it in the day before applying your moisturizer as long as you use SPF; remember this product is sensitive to sunlight.
You can also add it as part of your evening routine; just apply a small portion of the product to your face and neck, avoiding the area surrounding the eyes because it can irritate.
Vitamin C serums will not show immediate results; to see some improvement on your skin, you need to wait for at least a couple of months.
After this time, you will notice your skin will be brightened and with an overall improvement of all your concerns.
