Strawberry Sugar Scrub – This homemade sugar scrub recipe is all natural, made with 4 simple ingredients including real strawberries.
SUGAR SCRUB
Can we all agree that sugar scrubs are awesome!? I’ve been completely obsessed with making my own since discovering how easy they are to put together, not to mention how much cheaper a homemade DIY sugar scrub is compared to what you find at the drugstore or fancy bath and body boutiques.
Two of my most popular sugar scrub recipes are gingerbread sugar scrub and peppermint sugar scrub, which are great scents for the holidays, but not necessarily ones you’d use year-round (though you totally could!).
I thought it would be fun to make a delicious homemade Strawberry Sugar Scrub that can be used any time of year … and it’s made with just four simple ingredients!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cups fractionated coconut oil
- 1/4 cup sweet almond oil
- 1/2 cup powdered strawberries, (about 1½ cups freeze-dried strawberries, ground)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 tsp strawberry extract, optional
Instructions
- Pour the fractionated coconut oil into a bowl, add the sweet almond oil and mix.
- Grind enough freeze dried strawberries until you have about ½ cup of powder.
- In a separate bowl, Whisk and then sift together the granulated sugar and powdered strawberries.
- Gently stir half of the sugar mixture into the coconut oil mixture. Then, stir in the second half of the mixture.
- Optional: mix in strawberry extract for added scent.
- Note: If using in the shower or bathtub, be careful because bath products containing oil can make it slippery.
Benefits:
- Strawberries not only are rich in vitamin C but also contain alpha hydroxy acids, which exfoliate the skin clearing all blemishes. Olive oil and honey moisturizes skin; mayonnaise softens the skin while giving the a rich, creamy texture.
- Method:
- Mash strawberries well. Add all the other ingredients to mashed strawberries and apply on face and neck. Leave it for 20 minutes and wash off with cold water. Read More………..
