DIY FACE MASKS: FEED YOUR FACE!

FACE MASKS: Abs, and good skin* are made in the kitchen. Rustling up some beauty concoction in the kitchen is not necessarily a sign of thrift, but good sense borne from grandma’s wisdom. Sure, there are skin innovations aplenty from sheet masks to serums, but nothing can beat those tried and tested home-made face masks choc-a-bloc with the goodness of good-to-eat goodies.

1. Grandma’s besan uptan:

What’s it: Skin brightening and de-tanning mask

How it works: Here’s how you work this homemade face masks aka age old nuska; Mix togethertwo tablespoon chickpea flour (besan) with a few drops of lemon juice, one tablespoon curd  or milk, one teaspoon ground rice flour and a splash of rose water.FACE MASKS, Apply on your face and wait till it dries. Then use cool water to wet and rub it off in gentle circular motions. Rinse with cool water and pat dry.

Skin felt velvety soft and definitely fairer. Dry skinned gals should use milk, while curd works well on oily skin. A splash of Khadi Natural Herbal Skin Toner Rose Water afterwards adds a refreshing burst.

2. Oats Versus Blackheads

How it works: Oats are standard breakfast fare, now how about feeding them to your face? Instead of adding milk, mix together equal parts of lemon juice and Juicy Chemistry Rose Water. Add a tablespoon of oats to this and apply all over those offending dots. Oatmeal is a natural exfoliant and lemon kills bacteria. Leave on for about 20 minutes and gentle rub off. Rinse with cool water.
