Correct Order Of Using Skincare Products

Have you ever wondered if applying Skincare Products in a certain order affects their productivity? Turns out, it does!

But what is the correct order? So we can bring back that lost glow. For a complete guide, keep scrolling!

Reasons why skincare routine’s order is important:

Applying your skin care products in the proper order ensures that your skin receives the full benefits of each product.

In general, think thin-to-thick, but you also want to first use the products with the ingredients that are most important to penetrate into the skin (like antioxidants in serums) and finish with the products that need to sit on top of the skin (like emollients and humectants in moisturizers).

A step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Cleanser:

Every morning, start by simply washing your face with warm water. If you must wash your face, wash it with a gentle face cleanser.

Step 2: Toner:

Toners can work as a delivery method for antioxidants, vitamin-B derivatives, and even toning acids while not really “shrinking” pores.

Step 3: Antioxidant serum:

Serums are super-concentrated, nutrient-dense treatments that address specific concerns.

Step 4: Eye cream:

Regular use of eye cream over time will keep the eyelid skin elastic and can improve or prevent some fine lines or collagen loss. It’s vital to apply an eye cream at least every night—if not twice a day—starting in your 20s.

Step 5: Spot treatment:

Prescription medications and acne spot treatments need to be applied as close to the skin as possible to maximize their benefits. Remember that acne spot treatments can dry out your skin, so always apply only on spots where you need it.

Step 6: Moisturizer:

Yes, everyone needs a moisturizer, even if you have oily skin.

  Step 7: Sunscreen:

Sunscreen should be the last step in your daytime skincare routine if you’re using a physical or mineral sunscreen but when you’re using a chemical sunscreen try to look for a formula that offers moisturizing benefits.
